Brahma Rishi (Sanskrit: brahmaṛṣi; Javanese: brama rêsi) are considered to be the holiest hermit sages (resi) of all. This type of saint is a brahmanical seer who possesses the highest spiritual wisdom, i.e. brahmajñāna. Thus, the Brahma Rishi is regarded as the patriarch of ancient Hinduism, also known as (Vedic) Brahmanism. As such, he is the guardian of the Divine Law (Sanskrit: Dharma), thereby governing the functioning of the Cosmos. In traditional Indonesian mythology, however, these exalted resi ascetics are referred to as the most senior priests of the Siwa-Buddha cult, a local syncretic belief system based on Hindu and Buddhist teachings.
The resi amulet is made from a mixture of sacred powders, herbs, and magical flower oils. Also, three rose wooden prayer beads of mala rosary (Sanskrit: japamālā) worn by a genuine Indonesian Hindu-Buddhist meditation master has been inserted to the back side of the locket. The mystical properties embedded within this sacred object make it a most powerful talisman for spiritual practitioners and yogis alike, as it can help increase one’s divine knowledge through practice of meditation, yoga, and tantra. Consequently, the Brahma Resi will bestow his blessings upon the wearer of the amulet in order to keep his or her spiritual, mental, emotional and physical health in balance.
Mantra for Brahma Resi Hermit Sage Talisman
To properly worship (Sanskrit: pūjā) the Brahma Resi and to beseech him for help, one should recite the Gāyatrī mantra (also known as ‘Mahā Mantra’ or Great Mantra) nine times.
Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ;
Tat Savitur vareṇyaṃ,
Bhargo devasya dhīmahi,
Dhiyo yo naḥ prachodayāt.
O God; O Earth, Sky and Heaven;
That Savitaḥ (‘The Essence of Light‘: Sun/God) – the destroyer of ignorance – who is to be followed,
I meditate on His energy,
may He awaken my mind.
